8/14/2023 0 Comments Alien isolation cheatsThis game is nothing but a frustrating hiding simulator. Too many times I have left one area the alien was in, only to have it almost waiting for me in the next. Its impossible to actually leave the alien far behind. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ alien seemingly teleports around the map to always stay in very close proximity to you. The second problem is that the AI cheats. Two problems have killed this game for me. The problem is that the stealth makes me want to pull my hair out and shout every swear word combination I can think of. It's annoying but not game-breaking, the idea is that it adds "fear" to the game and by Thor doesn't it. With no cover and no weapons it was either watch another death scene or reload. I've been watching the drool slime down an open air vent, skirted around it and walked into a room about 3 meters away juuuuuuust as the Alien walks into the room from the opposite side. As for fighting? Ptfh, Amanda is not a killer and it shows.Īs for the teleporting Alien. Am currently on mission #10 and have spent perhaps 1/4 of my total time played crouching, about 3/4 of it hiding and running on exactly. You're the one being hunted and you have to adapt to this.ĭarting from locker to locker, or from cover to cover is what prey does when it doesn't want to be eaten. This is NOT a game to run around a gun in one hand and a cigar in the other, you are not the hunter, you're not the alpha-predator with dazzling super armor and a chain gun that eats grunts for breakfast and spits out their teeth as bullets. It never feels like you actually have a chance to DO anything other than hide. This forces you to practically play the entire game inside of lockers or such and darting to the next one when you think you have an opening. Two problems have killed this game for me.įirst of all, the ship is divided into lots of small segments which would be ok, but they are so small that the alien is never more than a few seconds away from you at any given time. I'm not saying the resampled score isn't great, but having seen all the movies dozens of times each, to me the soundtrack has become as integral a part of the universe as the Xenomorph itself.First off, i know this is supposed to be a stealth game foremost with occasional combat - thats fine. You only get very short untouched samples and those moments literally give me goosebumps. My only gripe is that they've reworked alot of the OST from Goldsmith. And if the game throws a scare at me, like opening a door and being greeted by an explosion, I'm genuinely scared throughout my entire body. That way I can experience an Alien-like evening without knowing what to expect - the only downside to knowing the movie so well. I play the game once every 3 nights so I won't get used to the tension levels. The first chapters actually feel like an elaborate tech demo for the game engine. It also helps that the game doesn't feel gamey, it's all very realistic and mature. Its game world is 1:1 Alien universe, you can spend hours upon hours watching the architecture, all the different safety and guidance logo's that were unused in the movie (I reckon you too must have seen the extended making of), listening to the iconic clicking computers. Yeah man, it is everything you want and even more.
